A mounting block can make getting onto the horse easier and reduce the amount of effort required. Beginners should learn how to use one correctly under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
Maintain Balance While Mounting
Mounting requires controlled movement and balance. Riders should avoid pulling heavily on the reins while getting into the saddle. A calm and steady approach can make the process more comfortable for the horse.
Settle Into the Saddle
After mounting, riders should take a moment to adjust their posture, check their feet in the stirrups, and make sure they feel balanced before beginning to move.
Proper mounting is a simple but important part of horse riding. By learning the technique carefully and developing good habits from the beginning, riders can start each session with greater confidence and comfort.
